Calcium Arsenazo-III Reagents

Calcium Arsenazo-III reagents are chemical compounds used for the quantification of calcium ions in biological and environmental samples. Specifically, Calcium Arsenazo-III is a dye compound that forms a colored complex with calcium ions in aqueous solutions. This complex formation is utilized in spectrophotometric assays to measure the concentration of calcium ions present in a sample.

The Calcium Arsenazo-III reagent works based on a colorimetric reaction, where the intensity of the colored complex formed between Calcium Arsenazo-III and calcium ions is directly proportional to the concentration of calcium ions in the sample. This allows for the quantification of calcium levels through spectrophotometric analysis, typically at a specific wavelength determined by the absorbance characteristics of the formed complex.

These reagents find widespread use in various fields such as clinical diagnostics, biomedical research, environmental monitoring, and industrial processes where accurate measurement of calcium levels is essential. They offer a convenient and sensitive method for determining calcium ion concentrations in biological fluids, tissues, soil, water, and other samples, aiding in understanding physiological processes, diagnostics, and assessing environmental quality.
